Conquest Mode is the third major update of the game.

Overview

Conquest Mode was added on October the 22th as a free update to the game. It allows the player to chose a clan to conquer Northgard in a series of up to 10 challenges with. The Update also added feature exclusive to Conquest Mode such as individual skins to each clans town hall, new enemy units, resources, special buildings, events and a new type of map and achievements.

Features of Conquest Mode

Conquest Mode added a few special features:

  1. Conquest Mode can be played in Singleplayer or in cooperation with another player versus AI.
  2. For each Conquest Campaign there is a special map, showing the 11 challenges.
  3. Out of those 11 challenges 3 are specific to each Clan and adapt to their specialties. As the other 8 challenges are taken from a pool of random challenges, each new campaign with the same clan will therefore be different.
  4. The minimum number of challenges the player has to finish to complete the Conquest is 6.
  5. Every Challenge has special rules, i.e. more aggressive Kobolds.
  6. Each challenge grants Favors, which become permanent, once the Challenge is completed. For every Challenge there are 3 Favors to chose 1 from.
  7. There are clan specific favors and those taken randomly from a pool of non clan specific favors.

In addition of your clan's 3 specific challenges, you will face 8 random challenges which provide one of three available bonuses that can give you advantages/disadvantages for the next. As such challenges are among other clans' pool of 30 specific challenges, you may need to see Clan-specific challenges below for more information.

As stated above, each clan has 3 challenges that are specific to that clan and its specialties.

Those challenges are as follows:

Clan of the Wolf – Fenrir

The Clan of the Wolf faces the following special Challenges:

  • No natural walls, all zones are connected.
  • Blood moon event appears frequently and grants free military units.
  • Enemy Clans are more aggressive and expansionist.

  • 1 vs.3
  • An inner sea is occupying the center of the map.
  • Enemy Clans are more aggressive and expansionist.
  • Must be achieved in less than ten year.

3. The Cursed
  • Every Viking that dies has a chance to become a neutral Draugr.
  • Draugrs respawn quicker from Draugr Tombs and appear more frequently from portals.
  • Valdemar The Cursed roams around Northgard, protected by Dark Vaettirs. He will destroy
  • Permafrost map
Defeat Valdemar the Cursed

It is granted the following Favors for those specific Challenges:

  • Meat provided by Wolf or Brown Bear is increased by 100%.
  • Your berserker gains + 20% AttackPower Attack Power and Def defense and his recruitment cost is reduced by 20%
  • Happiness Happiness provided by your military units is increased by 100%

Clan of the Stag – Eikthyrnir

The Clan of the Stag faces the following special Challenges:

1. Viking's Glory

  • 1 vs. 2 (one of which from Bear Clan) vs. 2 (one of which from Bear Clan)
  • Few Pillars of Glory can be found around the map. It allows for the hiring of Heralds producing Fame Fame.
  • Each year at the beginning of summer, clan with the highest fame earns resources.
  • Enemy Clans are more aggressive yet mainly looking for fame with exception ones from Snake clan]]

  • Villagers refuse to gather food.
  • Players start with Food.png 300
  • There is more Fish. Deer and Fertile Land than usual.
  • Townhall produces Food +4.

2 vs. 2 vs. 2

Domination/Fame/Trade/Wisdom

It is granted the following Favors for those specific Challenges:

  • Skalds produces +50% more. Their tool costs no resources and forge time is divided by 2.
  • Food Silos are free, use no building slot and improve Food Food gathering from Villagers.
  • Food +200, Wood +200, Kröwns +200, Stone +20 and Iron +10 when reaching 500 Fame Fame.

Clan of the Goat - Heidrun

The Clan of the Goat faces the following special Challenges:

1. Race to Yggdrasil

  • 1 vs. 1 vs. 1
  • Yggdrasil stand in the center of the map, already scouted.
  • Its colonize price is increased but it takes only one month to do so.
  • There is more Fish, Deer, Fertile Land and Sheeps than usual.
  • Eldhrumnir relic costs no Iron Iron, takes half the time to forge and doesn't count as a built relic.
  • Must be achieved in less than six year.

  • Yggdrasil colonization cost is increased

2. Swamps of Death

  • 1 vs. 1 vs. 1
  • All areas have reduced available room for buildings.
  • There is more swamps than usual.
  • There is slighlty more Stones and Iron Deposit on the map.
  • AI are more aggresive and a lot more expansionist.
  • Ragnarök map

  • 2 vs. 2 vs. 2

3. Invasion from Helheim

  • 1
  • Player start alone at the center of the map, surrounded by 3 Gates of Helheim.
  • Each year, Invasion from helheim.png Invasion from helheim occurs :
    • More Draugar and Fallen Valkyries are summoned.
    • To avoid defeat, at least one the gates must be conquered before the event.
  • Once colonized, gate keeps randomly summoning additional waves of Draugar and Fallen Valkyries multiple times in the year.
  • There are no neutral faction, Wolves Cave nor Draugr Tombs.
  • Draugr are more likely to hold a spear or a shield.
  • Mission must be completed within 4 years.
  • Ragnarök map

  • 2
  • There are six Gates of Helheim.
  • Invasion from helheim occurs each 6 months.

Map Special: Gates of Helheim (secure all Gates)

It is granted the following Favors for those specific Challenges:

  • Start with three Sheep instead of one.
  • You start with Barricades lore activated, it grants +100% bonus on defense.
  • Feasts last two month instead of one.

Clan of the Raven - Huginn and Muninn

The Clan of the Raven faces the following special Challenges:

  • Rewards for Prestige Commercial Influence appears more often.

  • 1 vs. 1 vs. 1 vs. 1
  • All Lore Lore production are disabled.
  • Knowledges may only be acquired with Kröwns Kröwns. Prices are 50% higher.

It is granted the following Favors for those specific Challenges:

  • Receive "Recruits" bonus every 200 Fame Fame.
  • Colonizing with Kröwns Kröwns costs -30%
  • When hiring Mercenary raid, it is doubled

Clan of the Bear - Bjarki

The Clan of the Bear faces the following special Challenges:

  • Each winter is a blizzard.
  • Most famous player March 805 wins.
  • Enemy Clans are more defensive and seeking for fame.

2. Defend the Oppressed

  • 2 vs. 2 vs. 2
  • Players are accompanied by a weak clan ally needing to be defended.
  • Enemy clans are more aggressive and expansionist.

  • Clan ally always spawn on a side

Dominion & Protection (Protect your comrade for 8 years or get rid of the threat.)
3. Surrounded

  • 1 vs. 3
  • Players start at the center of the map.
  • Enemy Clans are more aggressive and expansionist.

Dominion (Improvise. Adapt. Overcome.)

It is granted the following Favors for those specific Challenges:

  • Start with Kaija, the Armored Bear, she has +10% AttackPower Attack Power and Def defense.
  • Shield Bearers start with their weapon improved.
  • Start with Scabbard of Gram relic available.

Clan of the Boar - Slidrugtanni

The Clan of the Boar faces the following special Challenges:

1. Bifröst

  • 1 vs. 2
  • A sleeping Bifröst stands in the middle of the map, already scouted.
  • You gather Lore Lore in normal tree until you colonize Bifröst.
  • After Bifröst colonization, default lore tree production is disabled and all lore counts for Bifröst awakening.
  • There is more Runestone and Circle of Stones than usual.

  • 2 vs. 4
  • The amount of lore to gather and awake Bifröst is doubled.

Special Map: Bifrost (Awake the bifröst before time runs out.)
2. Keep It Simple

  • 1 vs. 1 vs. 1
  • Building and tool upgrade are disabled.
  • Scouts can scout enemy territory without upgraded scout camp.
  • Altar doesn't require an upgraded townhall.

3. The Wise One

Map Special: Sword of the Gods (Claim the Sword of the God and accumulate enough wisdom)

It is granted the following Favors for those specific Challenges:

  • Menders produces +50% more. Their tool costs no resources and forge time is divided by 2.
  • Altar of Kings cost is reduced by 50% and gives 50% more.
  • Whenever upgrading your townhall, you gain three free building upgrades.


Clan of the Snake - Sváfnir

The Clan of the Snake faces the following special Challenges:

1. Greed's Price

  • 1 vs. 1 vs. 1
  • All Kröwns Kröwns production are disabled.
  • Ruins and Damaged Houses appear all around the map.
  • Their treasures are 50% less important than usual but respawn each year.
  • Obtaining a treasure instantly kill the scout.
  • Enemy Clans are more aggresive and expansionist.

2 vs. 2 vs. 2

Giant Boar (Be the first to find and kill the giant boar).
2. Dystopia

  • 1 vs. 1 vs. 1
  • Happiness Happiness is always at 10.
  • All production are increased by 10%.
  • A curse will regularly turn 10% of your population into Spectral Warriors.
  • Dreamlands map

  • 2 vs. 2 vs. 2

Dominion/Fame/Trade/Wisdom
3. Hostile Lands

  • 1 vs. 3
  • Skirmishers deals 50% more damage against foes.
  • Skirmishers price is halved.
  • Zone hostility is doubled.
  • Towers can't be upgraded.
  • Enemy Clans are more aggressive and expansionist.

  • 2 vs. 6

Domination

It is granted the following Favors for those specific Challenges:

  • Skirmishers have +50% AttackPower Attack Power and Def Defense.
  • Signy gets +20% AttackPower Attack Power and Def Defense and +25 Health health.
  • Scorched earth lasts ten years.

Clan of the Horse - Svadilfari

The Clan of the Horse faces the following special Challenges:

1. Valkyrie Galore

  • 1 vs. 1 vs. 1 vs. 1
  • Gates of Helheim stand in the center of the map, already scouted.
  • Half of the areas are infested with Fallen Valkyries. They are more aggressive.
  • Enemy Clans are more aggresive and expansionist.

  • 2 vs. 2 vs. 2 vs. 2

Map Special: Gates of Helheim (Control and defend the gates of helheim during 12 months.)
2. Gem Cutter

  • 1 vs. 2 vs. 2
  • All neutrals factions are present, there is less hostility in each zone.
  • Gemstone deposits can be found throughout the map.
  • Selling Gemstones earns four time what a regular resource would.
  • Gathering or trading Gemstones increase Happiness Happiness. Failing to do so decreases it.
  • Disabled for Kraken clan

  • 2 vs.3 vs. 3

Trade
3. For Odin's Glory

  • 1 vs. 1 vs. 1 vs. 1
  • Magma Flow stands in the center of the map, already discovered.
  • Stone Stone deposit are more scarce. Iron Iron are more frequent.
  • All deposit contains 50% less mineral.
  • Selling Gemstones earns four time what a regular resource would.
  • Gathering or trading Gemstones increase Happiness happiness. Failing to do so decreases it.

Map Special: Odin's Sword

It is granted the following Favors for those specific Challenges:

  • Your warchiefs regenerate in your territory.
  • +10% bonus production in zones with a warchief.
  • Whenever a Great Tower is destroyed, it kills all units in the territory.

Clan of the Dragon - Nidhogg

The Clan of the Dragon faces the following special Challenges:

1. Frozen Gates

  • 1 vs. 1 vs. 1
  • Many Gates of Niflheim are opened in the land, guarded by Dark Vaettirs.
  • Frozen Attack: Twice in a year, gates open and summon huge waves of frozen zombies.
  • Enemy Clans are more focused on securing their base, yet aggresive if they have the opportunity to attack.
  • Permafrost map

2. Muspell's Wrath

  • 1 vs. 1 vs. 1 vs. 1
  • The land is oveerun with Eldthurs.
  • Many Gates of Muspell are opened, pouring frequently new Eldthurs.
  • Eldthurs will regularly launch attack on players.
  • Enemy Clans are more aggresive and expansionist.
  • Ragnarök map

  • 2 vs. 2 vs. 2 vs. 2
  • Kill count is common to both players

Map Special: Jötnar Hunt (Hunt down enough fiery giants).
3. Too Many Wyverns

  • 1 vs. 1 vs. 1 vs. 1
  • Lots of wyvern are spread across the map.
  • Enemy Clans are more aggressive and expansionist.

Map Special: Wyvern Hunt

It is granted the following Favors for those specific Challenges:

  • Dragonkin have +50 Health Health
  • +1 Dragon Essence Dragon Essence for each sacrifice.
  • Boats bring one more Thrall Thralls, your Thrall capacity is 50% higher. Thrall Thralls can’t revolt.

The Clan of the Kraken faces the following special Challenges:

  • There are many Kobold Camps. Decolonizing one earns Fame.png +10 .
  • Kobolds are more aggresive, they respawn and expand quicker.
  • Enemy Clans are more focused on defense and fame gathering.
  • Disabled for Snake clan.

  • 2 vs. 2 vs. 2

3. Myrkalfar Uprising

  • 1 vs. 1 vs. 1 vs. 1

There are four aggressive Myrkalfar Camps.

  • Starting from the sixth month of the game. Myrkalfars will start launching regular attacks on every player.
  • Starting at year 802, volcanic eruption happen each year.
  • Enemy Clans are more focused on defense.
  • Ragnarök map

  • 2 vs. 2 vs. 2 vs. 2
  • The map is twice larger

It is granted the following Favors for those specific Challenges:

  • +50% bonus production for Norns.
  • You can control one more Valkyrie.
  • Enemy units in your coastal territory lose life over time.

Clan of the Ox - Himminbrjotir

The Clan of the Kraken faces the following special Challenges:
